It’s all change at Charlton in south-east London with the creation of the Charlton Riverside opportunity area – and Rockwell is playing a big part. We have purchased 15 acres in this exciting opportunity area and have submitted planning permission for our first phase of development:

Along with our partners, Queensgate Investments, we’re looking at concepts for this landmark hotel in Kensington, west London. Working with our team of experienced consultants we look forward to breathing new life into the site and some of our early thoughts include the provision of a new public space.
Skyline Central’s twin-tower design and restless facades made it an instant Manchester landmark. Building it was another matter. Bringing this scheme of 249 apartments, a 20-metre swimming pool, gym, spa and a Zen garden – on the 18th-floor, by the way – to fruition was a major construction challenge. A small price to pay for the handful of national awards it picked up, and the continuing strong demand it receives from homebuyers and rental tenants.
Lumière was a landmark for Manchester in more ways than one. The 12-storey apartment building on City Road East set a new standard in specification, finish and service for the city’s fast-growing private rented sector. The way of living there is more akin to a five-star hotel than an apartment block, with access to a gym, sauna rooms, roof terrace, concierge service and private outdoor space. The scheme scooped a number of national awards and was completed by our team while at West Properties.
What was a less-than-chic corner of the Isle of Dogs is now one of its most glamorous quarters, thanks to New Providence Wharf. Only recently fully completed, the series of curving blocks and towers offer a hotel, private and affordable housing, and commercial space. Our team, while at Ballymore, helped deliver the initial phases, negotiating on the way the small matter of the Blackwall Tunnel, which runs beneath the site.
This regeneration of a disused timber yard, completed while at Ballymore, put down a marker for new residential developments in London’s Docklands. We needed to get inventive in the remediation of the heavily contaminated site, and in the design. Architects CZWG created five blocks for the 287 apartments that allowed each one a view of the Thames and boosted the revenue potential of the project.
Unmissable on a bend in the Thames at Limehouse Reach, Dundee Wharf is a riverside landmark and a one-off. Working with Piers Gough at architects CZWG, our team (then at Ballymore) delivered a scheme that put its location to the best. Its two wings followed the site boundary and dock inlet edge to create a U-shape footprint so that every apartment-owner could enjoy a view, either upstream or downstream, and creating in the process a unique sense of place.
Boasting one of north London’s most commanding and recognisable facades, the Beaux Arts Building has stood off Holloway Road since 1911. While at Ballymore, our team carried out a full top-to-bottom restoration of the Grade II-listed building and transformed it into an award-winning development of 180 luxury loft apartments and duplex penthouses, entered via a spectacular foyer.
Our team delivered this CZWG-designed scheme while at Ballymore. Close to Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market and Aldgate East tube station, it includes 10th floor roof terraces, a residents’ gym and spa and a 24-hour concierge.
