Rockwell are delighted to have been included as a Case Study in New London Architecture’s most recent research on London’s Hotels: Expanding Social Spaces.
London is the third most visited city in the world, with one of the highest hotel occupancy rates of any European city. The capital has a pipeline of over 13,000 new hotel rooms but the sector faces new challenges due to cultural, technological and lifestyle changes.
The research paper examines the changing nature of London’s hotels, their enhanced social offer and their contribution to the city and their neighbourhoods. It profiles a selection of London’s most innovative trends and responses within the sector, showcasing findings and tackling issues around planning and both physical and virtual social spaces.
Urging the industry to do better, the report makes reference to Rockwell’s Nomad City report in addition to including a case study on our ambitious proposals for redevelopment of the Kensington Forum, for which we secured planning permission in June 2019.
The research is available in hard and electronic copies and is free to read online here.
