Rockwell Visits the Tree Nursery of Europe to handpick trees for Hurlingham Waterfront

Recently, the Rockwell team made a visit to Opheusden in the Netherlands to handpick over 80 trees for the gardens of our highly anticipated development Hurlingham Waterfront, London’s newest riverside neighbourhood.

Known as the Tree Centre of Europe, the region is home to over 150 specialist tree nurseries, 80 of which the Rockwell team carefully handpicked for the landscaping around the new development both at  ground level and for the expansive private podium garden .

From the striking white barked Betula Utilis Jacquemontii, the rich autumnal colours of the Acer Griseum, to the fragrant Magnolia Kobus and other complementary species, each tree was thoughtfully considered to curate a vibrant, tranquil environment for future residents at Hurlingham Waterfront to enjoy.

With over 39,000 square feet of sustainably planted gardens and green corridors, complete with private outdoor spaces for residents, Hurlingham Waterfront’s outdoor spaces feel more like a secret garden than your typical city development, creating a verdant respite in the heart of the capital.

The rooftops have been deliberately re-wilded, creating pockets of nature that most London residents can only dream of having on their doorstep. Designed with biodiversity at the forefront, plant species in the garden have been chosen to provide colour, scent and texture, as well as a diverse ecological habitat.
