Rockwell Sponsors World Croquet Championships

The 18^th World Croquet Championships recently took place at 7 croquet clubs across London, including the Hurlingham Club, with Rockwell and Hurlingham Waterfront proud sponsors of the event.

The tournament lasted just over a week, with 80 competitors representing 18 nations, from South Africa to Sweden, Spain and New Zealand. Despite rain forecasted, competitors enjoyed good weather for the championships, with an evening BBQ following the draw for the round of 32, and bright sunshine for the Championship Final at the Hurlingham Club on Sunday 23 July. The final was competed between American Matthew Essick, runner up in 2020, and Englishman Robert Fulford, the 2013 Champion. Robert Fulford emerged as the 2023 World Champion, winning his sixth World Championship.

The Rockwell team were thrilled to attend the Hurlingham Club for the tournament’s closing ceremony, where they witnessed the lifting of the World Croquet Championship trophy, along with the winners of the Shield and the Plate. Rockwell would like to join the World Croquet Federation in thanking those who made this year’s fantastic Championship possible – the members, staff and volunteers of the Hurlingham Club, as well as Surbiton Croquet Club, Dulwich Croquet Club, Ealing Croquet Club, the Roehampton Club, Woking Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club and the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.
