Vetro Shortlisted for the Tall Buildings Awards 2024

We are delighted to announce that Vetro, our landmark development in Westferry, has been shortlisted for the Tall Buildings Awards 2024 in the ‘Best Mixed-Use or Commercial Tall Building Project’ category.

This award recognises the best-in-class commercial or mixed-use tall buildings of the past year that have used advanced building technologies, materials and methods to provide strong structural solutions, reduce environmental impact and encourage collaborative working, and we are honoured to be included among the finalists.

Positioned at the gateway to Canary Wharf, Vetro’s 30 storeys include 68 new homes with commanding views of the Capital, alongside a 400-bedroom hotel – the tallest and largest off-airport Premier Inn in the UK. Our regeneration project at Vetro completely transformed this location – which had stood derelict and disused for over 10 years – anchoring the local area with new homes, jobs, and investment, promising a better future for the community.

Deploying the UK’s tallest free-standing crane and utilising 4D modelling were just two of the innovative construction methods which helped us to maximise the site’s potential and minimise its environmental impact at Vetro, and we also continued our commitment to going ‘beyond the building’ with our development projects, creating and contributing to the local community through charitable projects including sponsorship of the local football team, Westferry FC, and setting up the Rockwell Hospitality Skills Initiative to provide over training and skills qualifications to over 300 members of the local community.
