Looking back on an action packed year

From ground-breaking ceremonies to completions, public consultations, partnerships, and more, it was an action-packed 2023 for the Rockwell team

2023 kicked-off with the completion of our landmark multi-use regeneration project, Vetro, moments from Canary Wharf. Marking a significant milestone in our transformation of this previously derelict site into an anchor location for the Westferry community, our first residents moved into the building last January.

It was an honour for Vetro to be shortlisted by the prestigious British Homes Awards shortly after completion, which recognised our project as one of the very best multi-use developments in the UK. Later in the year we unveiled Vetro’s premier residences – the Vetro Penthouse Collection – on an evening of excitement and celebration with the backdrop of a stunning London skyline sunset.

2023 also saw the launch of our hotly anticipated SW6 development, Hurlingham Waterfront. Glamorous preview exhibitions for both media and potential buyers at the prestigious Hurlingham Club were followed by an official launch of the scheme at our expansive Hurlingham Waterfront marketing suite, located directly opposite the development over the River Thames.

Residences at this development have flown off the shelves since the launch, with over £60million in sales achieved in just six months, firmly establishing it as one of the best-selling prime developments in the capital in 2023. International exhibitions brought this exciting scheme to new audiences, showcasing its desirable riverfront location and unique, wellbeing-led design and superior amenity offering.

Strides were also made last year on our proposed riverside development in the London Borough of Wandsworth, One Battersea Bridge. We were joined by over 200 guests at a series of consultation events, at which valuable feedback was received from local residents and stakeholders. Our vision for the scheme is to provide a landmark building, that reflects the importance of its position alongside Battersea Bridge as a gateway to Wandsworth. The redevelopment of the underutilised current building has the potential to create new homes that will help alleviate local housing pressures and ensure that a significant amount of truly affordable homes will be delivered for the local community.

Last year we also welcomed several new starters, as we continue to bolster our team of stellar property professionals. 11 joined us in 2023, across several facets of the business, including technical design, commercial management, and residential sales.

At Rockwell, we are committed to engaging with the local community, and last year was no exception, as we continued to establish new and meaningful partnerships with important organisations to the communities local to our developments.

We created a new weatherproof outdoor play area for children supported by the Fulham-based charity, Sands End Associated Projects in Action (SEAPIA). The new play area will allow SEAPIA to continue providing an inclusive, safe, and enriching environment for children to play throughout all months of the year.

A charity Night Walk saw members of the Rockwell team walk over 30 kilometres, following a route that led us past several of our developments, raising over £1,500 for Keeping Families Together, a charity which works closely with social services, schools, parents, and other professionals to support families and young people in Battersea. Also, in December the team delivered over £2,500-worth of cots and beds to Little Village, an important charity supporting young families living in poverty across London, just in time for Christmas.

As we look forward to a busy 2024, we want to thank our hard-working team and all our partners for making last year so successful.
